Is your EPC still valid?
The EPC is not valid or 10 years old!
EPC’s were introduced on 1st August 2007 as a measure of the efficiency of homes and buildings. If your Energy Performance Certificate is more than 10 years old , you will pay fine for not having a valid EPC.
If you have an EPC for your own home, there are benefits in keeping it up to date for you too. Some of the earliest EPCs have already expired. So if you are an early adopter of the scheme, it’s worth checking of the date on certificate!
Also, if you have made improvements to your home like updating your heating or insulation, your new rating will be much improved.
